Digital sustainability (Trees)
At Hettich Vadodara plant, we strongly believe that digitalization & sustainability go hand in hand. In line with the same belief, we have recently taken up an initiative at Vadodara plant.
We have attempted to digitalize our sustainable lush green assets available across Vadodara plant what we all lovingly call our best friends “the trees”. We have counted & provided a unique ID to each & every tree friend in our plant & captured details about specific tree in a QR code. You just need to scan the QR code on a particular tree with your mobile handset & it will reflect all the details about it like type of tree, its scientific name, its location in plant, its significance (medical, environmental etc) etc…
This will help us census all the green assets available across the plant & motivate us to plant them furthermore, very digital way… We have extended similar digital tagging to the light poles across plant.
organic manure
Overview As a part of our commitment to sustainability, we have recently introduced a 1 Lac Sq.ft. of lush green landscape (bio-diversity park) at our Vadodara factory premises. With increased area of lush green landscape & number of trees, we are experiencing a surge in garden waste. Being a responsible organization we do not burn the waste hence we initiated an organic way out to this which in turn will give an even better product
a 100% organic manure
After a careful comparison with manual process, we have installed an automatic composting machine to decompose the mixed waste from canteen & garden waste. It generates organic manure over 24hrs cycle to support further our gardening activities.
Process
- Everyday mix of canteen waste & garden waste (50kg) is loaded to machine
- In-built shredder (ss304) grinds the input granules & send it to main chamber
- Here in main chamber the input is thoroughly mixed with help of blades (ss304)
- Mixture is heated to around 60 deg cen temperature & de-moisturized
- At the end of 24 hrs cycle, the input is converted to powdered form of 100% organic manure
