Indian economy has shown good growth in Q2 And continued to grow in month of oct and nov as evidenced by high frequency indicator such as auto sales, power consumption, railway freight loading and the like .however growth is continued to be uneven.
The customer segment where we have significant presence consumption has been driven by the affluent and those in urban areas through the purchasing of high-end mobiles , premium price electronics goods , larger and more expensive appliances. Notwithstanding marginal drop in inflation from 7.4% (sept.) to 6.8% (oct) the rural economy continued to stress.
However, central & state government's continuous focus on investment in education & healthcare infrastructure has developed huge opportunity for our B2B product lines .to give few examples we are already working on two big education furniture orders worth 150 crs . more orders are at finalisation stage. Similarly in case of hospital furniture we are able to execute three big orders in Pvt sector which has a huge potential to generate more business in coming future.
In case of B2C
The good news as we move forward is that the wedding season will bring in opportunities. The size of the opportunity is large with media reports mentioning that 32 lakh weddings are scheduled to take place between November and mid-December & that the industry is expected to generate revenues of Rs.3.75 lakh crores. While the wedding season will bring in cheer, the larger task before us is to plan for the months ahead.
What we need to do can be summarized as under.
We must execute orders in hand at the earliest and remain hungry for new orders.
In current scenario getting skilled people to work on shop floor at short notice is going to be challenge. To address this challenge all of us has to embraced new technology including robotic automation at a faster speed.
All have to develop their own ecosystem which is crucial for managing spurt in demand.
